I received an amazing array of responses including “bringer of justice” – “open access” – “holder of integrity” – “freedom to intrude” – “to be corrosive”.

For myself, I was under the impression that to be a blogger it was about honesty and fairness, to rise above the gutter that the mainstream media inhabits so often.

I care not if you are reading this and thinking I am only writing this because William Hague is a Conservative, you’re wrong. This would have been written whoever the public figure was and my recent stance on Twitter would’ve remained the same that what Paul Staines has done has brought a bad stench on the world in which we bloggers inhabit.

I know not why Guido decided to go after Mr Hague and/or Mr Myers in such a fashion. I have shared my suspicion a number of times on Twitter and shall do so again in the next sentence.

I personally believe that Paul Staines was given a tip off from a past victim of his who is trying to ingratiate themselves with Guido. That tip off may have only been that the room was shared and an over eager imagination set to work.

I know not why I feel so strongly about this but perhaps it has something to do with the world that I feel so strongly about, the one with honesty and fairness has been badly sullied due to the actions of a once great activist.

I don’t have an issue with the premise of what Guido has done but I do have a major issue with the way in which he undertook his work, it is reminiscent of the gutter press at its very worst.

Perhaps he is obliged because he has column inches to fill, perhaps he is obliged because of the expectation that weighs on his shoulders, perhaps he’s stepped over the line of what it means to be a blogger?

Labour could yet come out of this whole fiasco smelling of roses and still save Britain!

If Labour refuse to do a pact with the Liberal Democrats at the same time as the Conservatives refuse to do a pact with them this will put Nick The Arrogant squarely back in his place having missed the only boat they will ever be offered.

Labour have already set the ball rolling to replace their leader, if they allow a Conservative minority Government and assist by voting the Queen’s speech through they can, [almost] legitimately stand for Election in 10 months time on a mandate of CHANGE and FRESH FOCUS.

I personally think if that were the case the Conservatives would still be returned with a working majority and I am ready for that challenge.

Can we count on the Labour Party doing the right thing for the country?

Yes, the Conservative Party gained a majority but not a working overall majority. There are polls and arguments going on in every Party at every level as to why each Party failed to do better, this should be apparent more in the Lib Dems than any other Party but it is not, at least not just yet.

Labour claim they want AV but only because it favours them. Lib Dems claim they want PR but only because it favours them. We, are content with FPTP but it does not favour us, if we change boundaries and make each constituency the same size then that will favour us. but, we are where we are and it is sadly FPTP that got us in this position.

Now then, the Lib Dems had a crap night on Thursday there are no two ways about it but they had a great morning on Friday because it allows them to hide their dreadful performance at #ge10.

It is now the Lib Dems who hold the card, not much of one but just enough to determine who may or who may not lead the next Government. But all of a sudden Nick Clegg has become rather arrogant.

He is almost holding the British electorate to ransom, pretending to scrutinise what is on offer from both the Conservatives and Labour Parties. He talks of a deal in the coming days, he talks of needing further details yet he talks of doing what is right for the nation.

I want a Conservative Government but I don’t want the David Cameron to sell the Party down the line and I don’t believe he will. What I don’t want is some arrogant jumped up two-bit player getting off telling journalists, MP’s and the electorate that he is taking his time.

Nick, either step up to the mantel, make that statement and right now I don’t care if you go Lab/Lib or Con/Lib, I want a Conservative Government but I don’t want one so badly as to have to bow to you.

Dave offers a comprehensive package offering Nick the chance to get many of his policies on the agenda.

How will it pan out? In my mind Brown will seal the deal with Nick who cannot see through the lies and subterfuge. Brown and Clegg will seal a deal, stitch up the Conservative Party and the final sweetener will be Brown to stand down with D Miliband to takeover as PM.

Britiain then faces another 5 years of an unelected leader of the ruling party and a decidedly dodgy Government that will only be challenged when the truth of how bad the books are in about 3 years time.

I fear it will be a sad day and the man who deserves to be PM may never get there.

Further to our previous communication of 15th December 2009, we write to inform you that in accordance with the Northern Rock PLC Compensation Scheme Order 2008, the Independent Valuer, Andrew Caldwell, has determined that as at the Valuation Date, 22nd February 2008, Northern Rock PLC Ordinary shares had no value.

Accordingly, the Independent Valuer has determined that the amount of compensation payable by the Treasury to former Northern Rock PLC shareholders is Nil.

Important Information & Other Key Dates:

The Independent Valuer announced on 29th March 2010, that having carefully considered written representations following his Consultation Document he had prepared another document, the Final Document, which can be viewed in its entirety on the Independent Valuer’s website at www.northernrockvaluer.org.uk.

For reasons set out in the Final Document, none of the representations made have caused the Independent Valuer to change his proposed approach to the valuation or his provisional views on the amount of any compensation payable by the Treasury.

Having applied the Valuation assumptions the Independent Valuer has determined that at the end of the assumed administration there would be a net deficit of approximately GBP5.68 billion. There would therefore be no surplus at the end of the assumed administration for distribution to shareholders.

Accordingly, for the reasons set out in the Final Document, the Independent Valuer has determined that the amount of compensation payable by the Treasury to former shareholders or those whose rights to receive shares have been extinguished is nil.

Is this how you aim to halve the deficit Labour?

Not your average Westminster rat that can oft be found amongst the rubble of the Palace of Westminster but an altogether dirtier and larger rat, and it’s coming to a briefing near you very soon.

Now that we have moved on from the botched coup whereby it has since been disclosed that Harriet Harman was the Cabinet Minister who failed to come out in support of the Snow Plot we see the rise in electioneering hitting new heights.

So what’s the latest on when we will be offered the chance to vote out this weak and ineffectual Government? Well, if you’ve been listening this week you will know that it is May 6th without a shadow of a doubt.

Well, hang on, let’s just take a moment to ponder that shall we? What proof do we have?

Thus far we have only two dodgy claims that May 6th will be #GE10.

The first whereby Chris Bryant ‘claims’ to know the date and uttered it quite clearly in front of a diplomatic think-tank.

Why would he? Not for any other reason than because he knew it would be reported with gusto. [I smell that rat feeding hard and fast on Mandelson prime cuts of propaganda]

The seed had been sewn and so the media were on the look out for a second faux pas. Guess what? They didn’t have to wait long when today Andy Burnham attempted to ‘accidentally’ suggest the date would be May. Again, why?

This all smacks of a smokescreen to me to put the Opposition on the back foot to take the foot off the gas pedal and one that I may be on my own supporting but hey ho, that’s what it’s like sometimes. You have to go with your gut feeling. Much the same as I did with the TV debates that I still feel will fail to materialise.

What other factors could prevent Gordon Brown from calling May 6th as #GE10?

Firstly May 6th is Tony Blair’s birthday and that alone is enough to deter #GoBro

Think long and hard Gordon, there’s some pretty gory scenes up there for May 6th; care to add to them?

We all know it is General Election year #GE10 and the most likely date is 6th May, following a Budget full of empty promises of investment, prosperity and pay later schemes. But there is currently an election looming far sooner and far more meaningful for the Labour Party and potentially the country.

It is clearly understood that any leader of the Labour Party other than Gordon Brown following a coup would be able to narrow the Poll gap between themselves and the Conservative Party as the incumbent would inevitably enjoy the honeymoon period and the ‘bounce’ that goes with a personality change.

For months it was assumed that 26th March would be #GE10 thereby allowing the Government to avoid announcing any form of Budget but that would simply not allow enough time for the new leader to make the role his/her own.

Following a pre-Christmas party hosted by Charles Clarke the former Home Secretary and one of the most vocal anti-Brown campaigners it seems one output was to brief a series of coordinated press releases slamming the leadership of Gordon Brown and stating how better off the party and the country would be without him at the helm.

So then, who is the in the driving seat and who is set to star in the shake-up of the Labour party?

Or, are we to face yet another failed coup from a bunch of snipers who haven’t got the courage to do anything other than moan about how bad a Conservative Government would be for Britain?

We already know that Harriet Harman is to head up Gordon Brown and the PLP’s #GE10 campaign which sidelines Lord Mandelson (a very risky strategy indeed), but was this appointment simply to the *Fearless Five striking first?

*Fearless Five are a group of rebels led by Jack Straw, the others are Deputy Labour leader Harriet Harman, Chancellor Alistair Darling, Foreign Secretary David Miliband and Home Secretary Alan Johnson.

One also has to wonder how much Sarah Brown will be used throughout #GE10 as already she has persuaded an ex-colleague from the PR field, Helen Scott Lidgett to join her in the depths of the bunker.

Today, Gordon Brown will give a speech that will be full of empty promises and scorn on the Tories but will it be enough to stave the assassins from his door?

Several times I have had letters rebuffed by the local press and the latest was just a few days ago. I also sent the letter to the Daily Telegraph hoping that they would have the decency to print it, alas, they did not.

As a consequence I have decided to print it below:

Last week the final barrier to the full ratification of the EU’s Lisbon Treaty was overcome and on the First day of December it will be entered into law in all 27 member countries.

Despite all three main political parties promising the nation a referendum at the 2005 election we have not been given the opportunity to vote on this renamed constitution.

In 2007, following a local referendum in this highly marginal seat of Somerton and Frome over 90% of people who exercised the right to vote gave a clear ‘NO’ to the constitution. In essence, more people voted in favour of a referendum than for David Heath to be our representative, which in turn forced our MP to vote with the Conservatives in Parliament in support of a plebiscite.

Now that the Treaty has been ratified (albeit by consequential means), I wonder if he still believes we should have a referendum on it, or whether his vote was simply gesture politics and he has since retreated to the default Liberal Democrat position of just having an “in or out” referendum – which they hope will result in a win for the euro-fanatics?

If we are to see a repatriation of powers to our democratically elected Parliament rather than being dictated to from Brussels, we must have a strong government that is willing to fight for our country, as David Cameron made clear last week he would do should he win the General Election.

Ultimately, the question begs, will David Heath resign again in order to support our country?

Many tomes will be written today and in the future about the cynical content of the speech and how it is in effect a pre-manifesto manifesto so I don’t for one minute propose to add to that weight of words.

Instead, I propose to discuss something I feel is far more newsworthy today as I believe it ‘slipped’ under the radar yesterday in the furore of an investment announcement.

Yesterday, Lord Adonis announced that the 10 worst railway stations in England would each get to share £50m. That much we already know.

Fair enough, in the past I have been ‘quietly impressed’ with Lord Adonis and his apparent concern for doing the right thing by the railways but somehow, this just doesn’t sit comfortably with Parlez~me~’n~Tory.

How does Lord Adonis suddenly (1 day prior to a huge swathe of announcements within the Queen’s Speech) decide which stations are to be in his remit for this investment proposal?

What criteria was used for determining the worst stations in the country? Was this a consultative process? If so, with whom and when?

Personally, I believe that the only consultation (external to rail management) was between members of the Cabinet and only very senior members at that.

It is the belief of Parlez~me~’n~Tory that the criteria used was based purely on the best possible chance of a positive return at the General Election. Shall I put that statement into perspective?

It is rather obvious that apart from a token Conservative, Liberal Democrat and Independent the rest are Labour; not exactly with the strongest majorities either.

So, we have many Government ministers that were already set to enter the General Election campaign on very shaky ground who can now point to a huge cash investment in their region as evidence of what the Labour Government can and will do for their community. [It would be very interesting to do some analysis on what the breakdown of each local council is for these regions]…anyone wish to do that work?

Expect countless cries of ‘you wouldn’t get this under a Tory Government’ most notably in the voice of John Prescott to ram home hard the ‘working class’ Labour perception.

With the strategic position of the vast majority of these seats, [don't think for one minute they weren't chosen without that in mind] this investment turns out to be not quite what you thought it was yesterday and with the Queen’s speech today this will be all but lost in the noise. This cannot be allowed to happen.

MP’s from all sides, lobbyists and the blogosphere must leap on this and challenge Lord Adonis for the truth behind his rationale.

We’ve had Nick Clegg pleading like a spoilt child I want to be Prime Minister, we’ve had the leader of this once great nation admit that the Tories were right all along and that there will be cu*ts, lots of them and we shouldn’t trust the Tories because their cuts will be the horrible kind, and we’ve had David Cameron and George Osborne stand up and tell it like it is and watched them be lambasted for their honesty in the Left leaning press.

It’s also been a time of TWATS and CHUMPS!

Ah, yes, we also had this great BULLSHIT ALERT from Gordon Brown (#GoBro) himself.

How fitting then that today that the rank and file MP’s who’ve covered themselves in such glory during this recess have to return to more investigative research into their expenses, let’s see just how much the Prime Minister HAS to PAY BACK.

Gordon Brown waves goodbye (to his job)

In 1997 Tony Blair had the enthusiasm and vigour to lift his Party into power the public opinion of the Government of the day was stale, weak, feeble (seem familiar)?

Tony Blair did do some good work as Leader of his Party but he also made some horrific mistakes as Prime Minister of this country some of which he has yet to stand accountable for. But New Labour was nothing without its founding fathers, the Campbells, the Mandelsons and the Blairs. Once Gordon Brown forced them out of the picture he effectively applied for his own P45.

Following yestereday’s speech at the Labour Party conference in Brighton Gordon Brown stands even more isolated amongst his Party. The Cabinet were full of glowing praise yesterday but I maintain this will last only a very short time.

Already in several interviews this morning Cabinet members have been wheeled out to explain the drop in support from The SUN. Their response?

Papers have no influence. It wasn’t The SUN what won it in ’97

Typically Labour, deceit to the end. Not just to the electorate but also to themselves.

In fact, the vast majority of Tory supporters have slated Marr for his personal attack on Gordon Brown when there were so many other lines he could have gone down, so many other credible routes that would have given rise to some prime Gordon bumbling, but he didn’t, he asked that question.

The PM himself said

These questions, these questions, of course you might be right to ask them

So in my mind that gives us permission to discuss them.

The question was worded in such a way though that the PM was allowed to answer it with his own selective discussion. He simply answered the question with ‘no’, but was he referring to the specific part of the question that said ‘to get by’?

I don’t doubt there will be questions next week specifically with regards to David Cameron and drugs and the questions that were asked in the run-up to the leadership contest.

But, this morning following Lord Mandelson’s salvo against the BBC I asked the following question on Twitter

Imagine, just for one minute if the ‘Marr’ question was a plant by the PLP would be a great coup for #Gordon and #Mandy

This may not be as silly as it sounds, lambast the RIGHT with false claims as if it was their fault knowing full well the source could not be revealed because it is closer to home.

Why else would Lord Mandelson be continually giving this story legs?

Is this the start of the dirty tricks campaign?

Nick Clegg stated

Ours is the party of Paddy Ashdown, the first person to put climate change on the national agenda

Friends of the Earth who championed the cause with the first national campaign at the end of the Eighties suggest Paddy had nothing to do with it.

According to Channel 4′s FactCheck mini-site a Friends of the Earth spokesman said

If Paddy Ashdown played a part then great, but I don’t remember him particularly putting it on the agenda

Paddy Ashdown’s name is missing from a list of the top 100 people who did the most to save the planet (compiled in 2006 by a panel of experts in the field)

My decision comes about because as an aide to the Law Officers, whilst I have great personal regard for the Attorney General, I cannot support the decision which allows her to remain in office.

In my view the facts of the case do not matter. It is the principle which counts, particularly at a time when the publics’ trust of Whitehall is uncertain to say the least. We have to be seen to be accountable. In addition, could I just mention matters of policy where I believe leadership is vital.

On the constitution: We must legislate to offer a referendum on how we elect Members of the House of Commons. We must finish off reform of the House of Lords. Generally, I would urge you to move as quickly as possible to withdraw from Afghanistan and to signal a change in our position over Trident replacement.
Finally, on the economy, the Government is to be congratulated upon its clear-sighted and effective response to the downturn. You have my continued support in your resistance to David Cameron’s myopic and siren calls for an “Age of Austerity”.

My constituents benefit greatly from using our much-improved public services and they would not wish to see these jeopardised nor have our continued economic recovery put in doubt.

Just 36 hours after the claims within Adam Boulton‘s book that both Blair and Mandelson think #GoBro is a quitter Prezza feels the urge to come to his rescue. Can you imagine it?

Not known for his chivalry or litheness Prezza bounds up to No10 with his inglorious bulldog chewing a wasp persona and sets out to make a mockery of truth and reality in the democracy of this country.

When he rose to speak I can imagine the press laughing so loudly that Prezza must have thought the rumble was because he’d eaten an extra can of condensed milk with a tube of digestive biscuits and forgotten to visit the toilet* afterwards.

So what did the Former deputy PM say that was so derisable?

When referring to Gordon Brown, our dear PM Prezza described him as

If that were the extent of the folly of his claims that would be enough for me but no, he went on to declare

Gordon Brown is still the guy who turned this global economy round, everybody credits him with that, except here in the UK

There are two fundamental issues we’re facing, climate change and global finance. Both require global agreement, he’s the best man in the field for the job

Firstly, for the smear campaign Damian McBride was served with court papers by Guido on behalf of Nadine Dorries whilst at the same time McBride’s cohort Derek Draper was served with similar papers by ToryBear.

It is just a token, but an important one

On average 216 Squadron carries approximately 1,000 servicemen and women a week between Kandahar Airfield in southern Afghanistan and RAF Brize Norton. That’s a lot of beer by anyone’s standard.

Dutch brewer Grolsch have offered up 10,000 cans to assist this cause whilst previously support has come from Scottish and Newcastle, Veterans’ Associations and City of London guilds.

With RAF Brize Norton nestling neatly in the midst of Witney which boasts David Cameron MP as their Parliamentary representative it is the supposition of this Parlez~me~’n~Tory that this may make bigger headlines in the months to come which can only be a good thing.

A couple of weeks ago I suggested in my Lockerbie bomber al-Megrahi home for Ramadan! post that Mr al-Megrahi would be released, nothing dramatic there as it was widely reported to be a possibility.

I also asked the question

Were this man to be released would he recover dramatically in a Ronnie Biggs style fashion within days of his freedom?

Well, I believe the images that were broadcast of al-Megrahi both boarding the plane and leaving the plane could not be more contrasting, surprise, surprise eh?

I further suggested that

he be paraded on Libyan television as a permanent reminder that British Justice does not mean fairness…

…again, guess what? We’ve all seen the pictures, the mass waving of flags, the huge homecoming support! Simply wrong by anyone’s standards.

There has been much debate as to whether Mr al-Megrahi was actually innocent or whether he was a stooge given up by the Libyan Government in an attempt at satisfying international demands.

There will be further talk in the coming weeks as to whether the decision to release him was part of a trade deal so that British intererests could be dealt with favourably with upcoming oil field contracts.

If either of these things is true then we have the making of a Political scandal that will dog Britain for years to come.

However, there is another scandal that far outweighs the gravity of either the release of Mr al-Megrahi or the potentially seedy manner in which it was orchestrated.

The unsolved murder of WPC Yvonne Fletcher by an unidentified Libyan on 17th April 1984.

WPC Fletcher was on duty in St. James’s Square along with 30 of her colleagues to monitor a demonstration of dissidents opposed to the Libyan leader Colonel Gadaffi; among her colleagues on that fateful day was her fiancé.

It is a day I remember well, when you’re 17 years old major events hit hard and impact on your mind, this was one of those moments in my life.

The protest itself was voicing concern against the execution in Tripoli of two students who had heavily criticised the Libyan leader and for the two months prior to the protest the embassy had undergone a dramatic change from the diplomatic system that would normally staff it instead seeing Revolutionary Committees in charge; all with the quiet nod of the Libyan Government.

It is estimated that approximately 75 protestors arrived on the scene having been transported in whilst the police attempted to keep them separated from the loyalists staffing the embassy.

In the furore of the protest and at 18 minutes past 10 O’clock on the morning of 17th April, several bursts of shots were fired at the group of protestors, striking eleven people, including WPC Fletcher. In those days officers were unarmed and did not have body armour, consequently WPC Fletcher died of a stomach wound within an hour of arriving at hospital.

There has been much debate over the years as to whether the shots were fired from within the embassy though that is the general acceptance.

For the next 11 days the embassy was under siege by armed police with the most poignant reminder being beamed across the world of 5 police officer’s hats on the ground for the duration of the siege, one of those hats belonged to WPC Fletcher.

Colonel Gaddafi made much of his disgust that Libya’s diplomats were not given immunity and in a tit-for-tat act Libyan soldiers surrounded the British embassy in Tripoli.

After 11 long days finally the British Government allowed the embassy staff to depart the embassy and promptly expelled them. From this moment on all diplomatic relations with Libya were suspended. There was some bad planning on the timing of the release of the staff as it coincided with the day of WPC Fletcher’s funeral, I would suggest that was another diplomatic mistake.

10 years ago in July of 1999 the Libyan government formally accepted general responsibility for the murder and agreed compensation for the family.

As I have previously alluded to there are claims and counter-claims that the shots were fired from elsewhere and there has even been conspiracy theorists stating that the CIA amongst other agencies were involved with the shooting. Whilst these have been given much publicity over the years including a televised documentary I believe we have to go with what we know and what the facts can tell us.

There has also been several claims that the murderer was himself executed upon his return to Libya though this is likely to be a smokescreen spouted by the Libyan government.

With the recent release of Mr al-Megrahi it seems that Queenie Fletcher, mother of Yvonne now has even less chance of attaining that justice that has eluded her for over 25 years.

I make an impassioned please to the people of Britain, Please, you have the power to change the ending to this very sad story. DO IT!

Conservative MEP Daniel Hannan seems to have decided to take his holidays in the USA, but the beach and ice creams are not for this man, instead he’s campaigning against President Obama’s healthcare reforms.

Apparently telling all who will listen, which happens to include the Washington Post, that the NHS is a disaster and the US should “ponder our example, and tremble”.

“You see a grizzly picture of your own country’s possible future… Do not make the same mistakes we have,” he warned. “I see this massive encroachment of the state… this huge power grab by the state machine… squeezing the private sector, to engorge the state.”

In Great Britain, he explained: “It is not uncommon to wait six, 10, even 12 months for a knee operation… It is exactly a Marxist system. You are treated as a supplicant and expected to be grateful for what you get.”

Then, just in case he hadn’t made his lack of support for the NHS, he describes NHS staff as “the electoral block that makes it impossible to get rid of”.

I was intrigued and wanted to see in what context Daniel Hannan had made this last statement. So after Googling Washing Post Hannan I easily found the video (not just a report as the blogger had used).

After seeing the video first hand it was obvious to me that the Labour blogger had been a tad economical with their quoting and so set about to take the task to hand.

I decided to terminate the conversation there. It was obvious that @LabourMatters did not like being caught out with their selective spin and that having someone challenge them threw up one or two barriers in the way of their ability so they resorted to attempted intimidation with belittling @Wicksie, the skin’s a tad too tough for that to be successful though.

There is a lesson here though voters of the land. Do not trust those that have been in power for the past 12 years and who will do anything to cling on to it.

Parlez~me~’n~Tory says good riddance!

It’s not often I wish for #GoBro to be back at the helm but this week was one of those times. With lefty feminist Hattie spouting her rhetoric all week I feel physically drained.

So what have we got to look forward to from now until #GoBro gets back? Why, we have Mandy himself after taking the reins almost 36 hours ago in an official handover that took place in Whitehall, erm Downing St, erm Italy, erm Corfu! Oh bugger it, all of those places!

Why Corfu? Let’s come back to that.

The official reason we have had to witness the Hattie and Mandy show during the summer recess is that this gives a knackered PM much needed time off whilst continuing to provide top level Government cover. What a load of crap!

Top level cover would indicate that someone was at their desk ready and willing to work on any national emergency. The fact is that nobody is at their desk and from yesterday until Monday morning Mandy isn’t even in the country.

So what is Mandy doing in Corfu? What happened last time he was there? …and more importantly who’s he staying with?

Let’s address the 3rd question 1st then the rest might fall into place rather neatly.

Well, the owner of the yacht was one Oleg Deripaska the man who was allegedly tapped up by both Mandy and Osbourne.

If you further recall this all came to a head very soon after #GoBro brought Mandy into the cabinet. Rather quickly it was disclosed that just 2 months earlier Mandy had ‘dripped pure poison’ about his new boss to George Osbourne whilst enjoying an evening together at the Taverna Agni on the Greek island of Corfu.

In retaliation Mandy threatened to reveal what the shadow chancellor had told him privately about the Conservatives. In truth it seems there was no such disclosure to reveal as you can rest assured Mandy would’ve already played that joker for his own gain. He has not therefore it is safe to conclude he had no insider knowledge he wanted to share.

Mandy is currently staying as a guest of Nat Rothschild whilst leading our country from afar.

Step forward one week from the original incident and The Times ran a report into a claim that Mandy had returned the favour of hospitality by giving up to £50m p/a trade concessions to Deripaska. This was only one in a stream of gifts made by Mandy going back to when he was European Trade Commissioner.

Of course, as is to be expected when dealing with Grand Moff Tarkin himself one has to be extremely careful. A spokesperson for Lord Mandelson said of himself and Deripaska:

They had been on holiday in the same area and it was purely a social occasion

The whole Yachtgate situation worsened after the initial Mandy/Osbourne spat when on 21st October 2008 Rothschild wrote an open letter to The Times in which he clearly set out his stall in which he seems increasingly comfortable in.

The question remains why is Rothschild cosying up to Mandy? Is Mandy seeking a new source of funding prior to announcing his candidature or the General Election? …and just what has Mandy promised him?

It would seem we are still to face many more months of lies, corruption and a further weakened Prime Minister who’s strings are increasingly tangling themselves around the weeds of a dead and ineffectual Government.

It is unlikely that we will ever discover the truth when one considers Rothschild’s parting line to The Times:

Perhaps in future it would be better if all involved accepted the age-old adage that private parties are just that
